Two great sketches + some fabulous paper =

a whole lot of inspiration! I am a sketch challenge kind of girl! A really good sketch helps to get my creative juices flowing and allows me to better visualize what elements I might want to include on my card. So if you love a good sketch too, I highly recommend visiting 2sketches4you. Usually each Monday, Laura or Kazan post one sketch, but this week there is also a bonus sketch from one of their Design team members, Lisette. My first card is based off of Laura's sketch #11.

Laura's sketch had a line for a sentiment but at first I wasn't sure if I wanted to cover up any of the patterned paper so I took a picture of it with & without a sentiment. What do you think?

I was going to stop here but then I felt that the card needed something more.
So, instead of having it be just a regular card I decided to use the striped paper as more of a 'frame' and allow the center panel to flip up to reveal the 'inside' of the card. I added a few of the circles and one of the flowers to the inside to make for greater interest when the card is open. All of the fabulous paper on this card is October Afternoon - Weathervane collection.

Now for my second card which is based off of Lisette's sketch.
This fun floral paper is from My Mind's Eye - Dazzling collection. Don't you just love the HUGE flower?! I only adhered the center of it so that I could gently bend the petals and give it some dimension. For the ribbon, I first threaded it through my eyelets and then took four separate pieces and slip knotted them around the threaded ribbon.

Thanks for visiting!

I love both of these cards. I can see why you didn't want to cover up the paper, but it turned out beautifully. And you're right about the MME...that flower is great!!

I like it with the sentiment. Draws your eye to the flower on the DP. Nice work.
