Etsy Inspired Challenge #38

Happy Saturday! What a wonderful weekend it is going to be...I hope you feel the same! :) We have beautiful weather here and I get to celebrate my nephew's 1st birthday this weekend along with enjoying my oldest son's two baseball games.

This week's shop is just full of inspiration for you...Bacon Square Farm uses great colors and materials in creating their home decor items. And I love that they have both modern and shabby chic items to choose from.

I was inspired by this beautiful turquoise birdhouse with metal accents.

So I used a similar gorgeous blue color along with some silver accents to create this card.

I thought this would be a beautiful card to give to anyone going through a rough time or someone making a new start in life. (I will be listing it in my Etsy shop soon!)

Now check out the links below to see what the rest of the team has created this week!
Then make sure to go to Bacon Square Farm to find your own inspiration so that you can have a chance to win this week's prize...check out Ashley's blog for more details. Hope your day is filled with creativity and joy!

It's a beautiful day!

Hello all! It is another gorgeous day here in Washington and I am looking forward to spending some time outside with my boys. I'm hoping for a nice weekend too because we have 2 baseball games and 2 birthday parties to go to too! Should be busy but of course, lots of FUN!

So, remember THIS cute bag I created for Saturday's Etsy Inspired challenge? Well, I really love it and all of your sweet comments about it made me want to list it in my Etsy Shop. So I contacted Lauren at Sunbasilgarden (just to make sure she was okay with it since it was directly inspired by her adorable soap), she was so sweet and gave me the green light to go ahead and list in it my shop! And since I love how the bag turned out, I decided to create a card too.

The colors in this card don't match the bag but I think I am going to make a few more of these cards and the bags in different colors, with different sentiments too. This card is listed in my Etsy shop now...I will be posting the bag in the next few days.

I hope you all have a wonderful day planned! For all my blogging friends, I promise I will come visit you soon! :)

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! We had beautiful weather all weekend long...it was great! I am proud to say that in the first week of my Etsy Shop being open I have had 4 sales and 1 custom order! :) I know it is just the beginning but I like to celebrate every little success! :) So today I thought I would share one of the cards I have made for my custom order.

Do you think she will love it? Well, I have a lot on my plate right now...but all great things...my Etsy shop, finishing up 22 scrapbooks for my son's class, making an extra one for his teacher, aaaannnndddd....I am applying to be on the Design Team for my LSS! One of the women there personally asked me to apply so I am hoping I have a pretty good chance. I will let you know what happens! :)

Enjoy your day...I will be back in a day or two with another card!

Etsy Inspired Challenge #37

This week's Etsy shop, sunbasilgarden, has some really cute soaps! These Poppy soaps are one of my favorites and the inspiration for my project today. I just love the shape and colors of these.

My inspiration led me to create a cute little gift bag for a friend. I think I may need to buy these soaps to go inside! =)

I also really liked these fun soaps.

They reminded me of a card set I have in my own Etsy shop, take a look...

Now I know the lovely team has a lot of wonderful projects in store for you too so be sure to pay them a visit and leave them a little love while you're there! =)
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Cards for the Teacher (And a blog candy link)

I can't believe the end of the school year is drawing near. My oldest will be going to first grade next year and I think it will be a big adjustment (for me) to have him gone at school ALL day (insert big sad face here). So, I have been working on a few teacher cards...here are two of them:

I will be back on Saturday with my EtsyInspired project! Thank you all for your encouraging words and support for me starting up my own Etsy shop (and for hanging in with me even though I'm not posting quite as much lately). I am excited to say that I opened up shop on Sunday and have already had 3 sales and a lot of nice feedback from people in the forums! Once I get a better rhythm going and stop checking my shop every 2 seconds, I promise I will get back to a more regular posting schedule here on my blog. =)

Now, here is a blog you will want to make sure to check out this week...Debbie at a Passion for Crafts is giving away some great blog candy to celebrate her birthday! Just look at these fabulous goodies she is giving away....
Good luck! =)

Etsy Inspired Challenge #35

Hello! Time for another Etsy Inspired Challenge...hooray! Etsy has sooooo many talented artists/crafters and tons of inspiration...in fact, ever since I joined this team I think I have become a wee bit addicted! =) When I first saw the artwork in Bealoo's Shop I immediately fell in love with the fun, colorful paintings and was excited to see so many great pieces for boys. (Moms of boys...don't you often find that stores are overloaded with adorable girl stuff but it is slim pickings when it comes to adorable/cool boy things?! Don't get me wrong...I love the cute girl stuff...just can't buy it! =)

Wouldn't this painting be great in a little boys' room?! I was so inspired by the colors and transportation theme that I made up a card, mini album, and gift bag! I guess I am making up a little for not posting much this week too! =)

So, for my projects I used some fun paper and stickers by Creative Imaginations, along with a little American Crafts ribbon, and my Unity Distressed Dots background stamp. Here are my creations:

I know the rest of the team has some great eye candy for you too so be sure to pay them a visit!
Ashley has a wonderful prize for you this week and Bealoo is offering a special...buy 2 prints get a third one free (coupon code: Bealoo Spring Special). Also, I have blog candy going on right now and by participating in this challenge you can get an extra chance to win...check out the post below for the details!

Starting to Dream

Hello friends! Sorry I have not been posting regularly these last two weeks. I have been very busy with the 22 scrapbooks for my son's Kindergarten class AND I have been spending a lot of time getting ready to open my own Etsy shop! Yep, I am joining the wonderful Etsy community and starting to create my dream shop! Want to take a peek??? :)

I don't have anything in my shop yet but have been working with a wonderful graphic artist, Dana from Lily Bean Designs, and she created a fabulous banner for me. Go check it out here: www.capturingcreativity.etsy.com and let me know what you think! Dana was so great to work with so if you need any graphic design work done like maybe a new blog banner :) be sure to check out her shop and don't be shy about contacting her if you want something custom...she is so sweet and talented!

So, guess what?! I actually have a little project to share with you today too! I have been creating so much for other people lately, which I love to do...but last night I was feeling the need to create something just for me. So, I thought I would make myself a journal for all my Etsy shop ideas, research, etc.

I love this paper from SU...the color and pattern is just so pretty.

Here is a close up of the tag...the letters are Making Memories (noteworthy hillary flocked).

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to have a scrapbook page to share with you all by Friday! :)

Etsy Inspired #34

This week we have a fun little shop for you to be inspired by. Just look at this adorable little guy from Adopt-a-Critter!

Meet Franco the Sydocian! I was inspired by his bright colors and thought I would stretch myself a little since I rarely use this color combination.

Here is what I came up with:

Be sure to check out the rest of the team:
Now it's your turn...go check out Adopt-a-Critter for a little inspiration and create a project of your own. Don't forget to link your project up to Ashley's blog (see above) for your chance to win this week's prize! I hope you all have a great weekend! I am off to a baseball game, pictures, and a quick stop at the grocery store. I'm hoping I will have enough energy left over to get some serious crafting done tonight!
