Etsy Inspired Challenge #77

Yeah it's Saturday! We have lots of fun times planned with friends and family this weekend...can't wait!

For this week's challenge we have a fabulous sponsor, Sakura of America. When I first began scrapbooking 8 years ago, their Metallic Gelly Roll pens were the first pens I bought. And I love the white Gelly Roll pen they have too. Sakura of America was generous enough to send me a few new pens and products to try out for this challenge and I am totally in love with their Quickie Glue pen!

So this week I was inspired by my Sakura products as well as our great featured Etsy shop this week, United Thread. First up is a fun little Easter project.

Now what crafter wouldn't love this little bucket to show up at their door Easter morning! :) For the egg tag I used my oval Nestabilities and decorated it using my new Souffle pens from Sakura of America. Then I just added some coordinating ribbon from American Crafts to finish off the tag and bucket. This project was actually inspired by this painting from United Thread. The egg shape of the water made me think Easter and the bright blue reminded me of my Target dollar spot buckets that I had! :)

Next, I was inspired by this Honey Comb painting from United Thread. I loved the golden color and was also inspired by the white space.

Here is where my inspiration took me...

For this card I used Sakura's pretty gold Sticklers and the Quickie Glue pen that I mentioned earlier. What I love about the Quickie Glue is that it has such a fine tip and application that you can even use it on sentiments. I'm sure with a little more practice I'll be able to make it look even better! :) The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the glitter I used is Martha Stewart.

Oh, and just a little tip for glitter...I find that using a small dry paintbrush is a great way to get those extra glitter pieces (that seem to want to stick around in all the wrong places) off your card.

Wow, I am a little long winded today. :) Okay so go to the Etsy Inspired Blog for more details on how to play along in the challenge for your chance to win a great prize from United Thread and Sakura of America!

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT too!
Okay friends, have a wonderful weekend!

Love is all you need

I'm so thankful for all the loving people in my life. When I got to design with the BoBunny Persuasion collection for my scrapbook store I knew it was perfect for documenting one of my greatest loves in life, my husband. Here is one of the layouts I created:

I thought this patterned paper was so pretty that I didn't really want to do a lot to take away from the beauty of it. So, I just added one of my favorite photos from our wedding and a few extra touches to create this layout.

This week I am busily working on some more projects for my scrapbook store, some magazine submissions (hoping to get at least a few more projects picked up this year), and several things for my Etsy shop.

I will be back Saturday to share my Etsy Inspired Challenge project and you are not going to want to miss our sponsor this week! :)

Smoky Lilac

Well, while I should have been working on some new items for my Etsy shop this evening, I just wasn't feeling overly creative...a busy day with my boys! :) So instead I put together this lovely treasury!

I'd greatly appreciate it if you would check it out HERE on Etsy and give it some clicks and maybe a comment too! :) I am in love with that felt bowl! Which item is your favorite?

Etsy Inspired Challenge #76

Welcome to another Etsy Inspired Challenge! This week's featured Etsy shop, Enchanted Beehive, is filled with pretty soaps and pendants for you to be inspired by. I was instantly inspired by the monogrammed soaps...I loved the circles, colors and layout of the photo.

This was such an easy card to put together but I really love how it turned out. I guess I'm just a clean and simple kind of gal! :)

By playing along in the challenge this week you could win an item of your choice from Enchanted Beehive or even some digital images from our sponsor this week Doodle Palace.

All you need to do is visit Enchanted Beehive and find an item that inspires you, create your own project and link it up to the Etsy Inspired Blog by Friday, February 26th at noon.

Happy crafting!

Be sure to visit these lovely ladies too:
Have a great weekend! I am hoping to have lots to share next week as I should be getting some projects back from my scrapbook store and I'm going to try to fit in a few challenges too.

Hugs and Kisses - Etsy Inspired Challenge #75

Happy Saturday everyone! Anyone have nice plans for Valentine's Day? My hubby and I will probably just spend some quality time with our boys and hopefully go look at a potential new home too. Then on Monday, I am hoping to get some 'me' time to do a little shopping with some of the gift cards I received for Christmas and maybe get some crafting done too!

If you have some time to create this weekend you should check out our featured Etsy shop this week, Spin Designs, for a little inspiration. Spin Designs has some great necklaces and fun modern mobiles. I was inspired by this piece:

Of course the heart made me think of our upcoming holiday this weekend and our sponsor this week, Dustin Pike of Doodle Dragon Studios, had the perfect image for me to use too! :)

Here is what I came up with:

Isn't this image adorable?! I was going to add more to this card but everything I tried just seemed to take away from the image so instead I just added a sweet sentiment inside.

Okay, now it's your turn:
- find an item from Spin Designs that inspires you
- create a project based on that inspiration
- link your project up to the Etsy Inspired Challenge blog

Check out the Etsy Inspired Blog to see what you could win!

And take a little time to visit these lovely ladies too:
Have a wonderful weekend! Happy Valentine's Day!

CPS and PTI

Papertrey Ink is sponsoring the CPS challenge this week so of course I had to play along. Have you seen some of the new stuff PTI is coming out with in the next few months?! Gorgeous felt, dies, impression plates, special color couture embellishments, acrylic paint in adorable little paint cans, and more. Check out the PTI blog for all the details...they are really rolling out a ton of amazing ideas for 2010. I can see my spending money dwindling quickly! :)

So here is the CPS sketch:

And here is my card:

For this card I used my PTI cardstock, some May Arts felt floral lace, and the MM Flutter collection. I had fun playing with the MM trims, pretty paper, and beautiful locket. Here is a picture with the locket closed and a photo of my card before I decided to add the extra butterflies and sentiment.

What a difference a few little details make, right?! Doesn't this card/Flutter collection make you ready for Spring? If you are in the mood for some more Spring inspiration check out my post below to see the Spring themed treasury I created today too.

Ready for Spring?

I know there are a lot of you dealing with a ton of snow lately. Here in Washington we have been just having some rainy weather. But I am starting to see buds on the trees and some flowers sprouting so when I snagged a treasury on Etsy today I decided to put together a collection of Spring items. Enjoy!

Click HERE to see the treasury on Etsy with all the links to the fabulous shops that sell these items.

I will be back tomorrow with my Etsy Inspired Challenge project!
