Etsy Inspired Challenge #31

I am so thankful the weekend is here! My little one has been sick and cranky all week but is now on the mend. So, I finally had some time and energy to work on my EtsyInspired project last night. This week's featured shop is Make Mine Mud which is filled with beautiful pottery pieces. I absolutely love her leaves...
Aren't they gorgeous! I just might have to get some...especially since Melissa is generously giving anyone who mentions the EtsyInspired challenge a free pendant with purchase!

So for my project, I used some beautiful leaf paper I had left over from a project I did 2 years ago. I knew I would want to use it again! :) And I covered some of the old Unity wood tags (that used to come with the wood slide kits) to create a little mini album. Here is a picture of the front cover...
The beautiful flower image and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink's Friends 'til the End set. I thought this mini album would be a great thing to give a loved one around Thanksgiving time filled with wonderful pictures and journaling about the people and things you are grateful for. I wanted to show you the back of the album too, just so you can really see the lovely leaf paper in it's entirety.
For the inside, I kept the pages very natural and simple. I just stamped the flower image once or twice in various places around the tags, leaving room for pictures and writing.

Whew! I know that was a lot...I guess I have missed posting and chatting this week! :) Anyway, be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team:
Have fun with your Etsy Inspiration this week! Click HERE if you have never participated in an EtsyInspired challenge before. I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend! I know I am going to enjoy spending time with my family who I am so very grateful for!

Good luck to all of you who try out!

Total Cuteness!

Good morning all! It looks like it is going to be a gorgeous day here in Washington...YEAH! We had a nice weekend too - playing outside, doing some Spring cleaning, and I got a few projects done. One of which was another scrapbook page! Thanks to Jennifer I am really seeing some progress in my scrapbooking projects. My youngest son is 16 months and I am working on a first year album (size 8x8) for him. Here is the page I created yesterday using Jennifer's CAS scrapbook sketch #3.

Now isn't he just the cutest reindeer you've ever seen?! (Of course I may be a little biased!) This week Jennifer also challenged us to use stamping on our layout...no problem! I used stamps from the Amazing Me set and spelled Total with the Just my Type alphabet. I created the reindeer myself and flocked the antlers and nose so it would be soft and fuzzy just like my son's hat. Here is a close up of the title and journaling (you can click on it for a larger view). Hope you have a great start to your week today!

Thanks for stopping by!

Triple the Sketch Anniversary Card

(This is my second post for today so if you are looking for my EtsyInspired post please scroll down.)

This weekend Patter is celebrating the One Year Anniversary of Triple the Sketch, a site where she posts sketches each week that are great to use for cards, layouts or even tags. And the design team always has fabulous projects to share too! I used Patter's anniversary sketch #51 to create this cute little baby boy card.
I love this great boy paper from Three Bugs in a Rug...cute boy stuff is so hard to find sometimes! :) I used SU's certainly celery cardstock and some yellow ric rack I picked up at my LSS today (although of course I forgot to pay attention to the brand). The boat square and button (Creative Cafe) are both popped up on dimensionals and I rounded the corners of all the panels/card.

Thanks for stopping by...hope to have some more projects to share next week...maybe even a mini album! :)

EtsyInspired Challenge #30

It's Saturday...time for another EtsyInspired challenge and this week's featured shop has a ton of adorable artwork to get your creative juices flowing! You must check out Lauren Alexander's work!
Just look at these sweet birdies!

Super cute, right?!
It looks like she has a free shipping deal going on this month...so go get yourself some of these adorable paintings (she has magnets, pendants, and stickers too)! :)

I was inspired by all the great colors, cute flowers, and of course the birds. Although I definitely did not capture the artistic talent in my card, I hope I at least captured the spirit of Lauren's work.

Now go check out Lauren's shop for some inspiration and make sure to link your EtsyInspired creation up on Ashley's post for your chance to win one of Lauren's cute little pendants! Also, stop by our Papercraft Planet Group to show off your project and introduce yourself! :) And don't forget to visit the rest of the DT to see their EtsyInspired creations!
Oh, and if you have never played in the EtsyInspired Challenges...what are you waiting for?! Anyone can play and you can create just about anything! For more details on how to play, click HERE for the rules.

Have a great weekend!

Friday fun featuring Unity

Happy Friday everyone! I have a few projects to share today. First up is another clean and simple scrapbook page...this one features my youngest son when he was 3 months old. I love this picture of him with his big, brown eyes wide open and full of innocence. :) The sunshine and sentiment are from Unity's Flirty Flowers set.

Next up is a card I made for the SCS Limited Supplies challenge this past week. It was snowing here in Washington the other day, which is not normal for this time of year but it did remind me of winter and inspired me to create this Christmas card.

I love Unity's dream tree and thought it would make for an elegant snow scene. I used Martha Stewart's coarse glitter for the snow. I embossed the black panel with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder for some extra texture. Paper: Stampin' Up Ribbon: May Arts Word Charm: Joann's Scrap Essentials

Last up is a card I had a lot of fun with and I was inspired by Christi's week 13 Exercise in Creativity - to experiment with text/type. I love Unity's Just my Type set (such a great font!) and I paired it with some paper from Pebbles Inc. School Days creative pad to create this card...

I thought this would be a cute card for a Kindergarten teacher. First I stamped letters and numbers in white on the SU Old Olive card base. Then I used the capital letters to stamp the sentiment on the lined patterned paper. The pencil circle is a sticker from the Pebbles Inc. pad as is the striped line running along the bottom of the sentiment panel. I finished off the card with two Basic Grey offbeat buttons to compliment the circle paper.

Thanks for stopping by...visit Angela's blog for a list of all the other Unity fans posting projects today. I will be back tomorrow with my EtsyInspired Challenge card and the featured shop this week is ADORABLE so be sure to check it out! :)

One Cute Bunny!

Well, thanks to Jennifer Buck's new Clean and Simple Scrapbook challenge I have now found that it is possible to complete a layout in an hour or two! :) Click HERE to see her sketch and samples for this week. AJ has a cute sample for you too if you are looking for more inspiration. I have LOADS of pictures just waiting to be scrapbooked. With Easter around the corner I thought it would be fun to create a layout around an adorable picture I found from my oldest son's second Easter.
All of the paper is from DCWV Spring Stack. For my journal box, I stamped the frame from Unity's Flirty Flowers set on the lined paper and then cut around the scallops. I also used Doodlebug buttons, Taylored Expressions tiny twinkles, Offray ribbon and Making Memories shimmer stickers.

Here is a close up of my cute little bunny!
It's hard to believe this picture was taken 5 years ago...now this year will be my youngest son's 2nd Easter. I think I need to go find some new boy bunny ears for him too! :) Thanks for visiting!
